Meditating on the Feast of the Incarnation brought me to this lovely little sculpture. Let me share with you what I see here:
Mary, icon of pure love, open to God and holding all things in her heart.
Joseph, protector of mother and child, traditionally depicted holding a lamp, the light of God's truth for the world.
Jesus, God-as-infant, in perfect peace, the still point of the turning world.
The whole is formed into an Open Circle, a circle of trust, love, compassion, and peace, open so that each of us may find our own way into the center. May you experience the peace of Incarnation.
May the wondrous Open Circle you insightfully observed continually reverberate outward in ever-expanding concentric circles, encompassing all in the love, light, peace, and joy of the Incarnation! “Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing.”
